The Blue Bell is one of the few pubs to retain its Edwardian period interior from a 1903 refurbishment, which consists of varnished and polished matchboard panelling to the walls and ceilings. The physical layout of the pub is a tap room at the front and a snug room to the rear which are divided by the bar servery area.

The pub is the smallest in York but affords a warm and soothing environment to enjoy the pleasing range of well- kept real cask ales. A treasured haven from the hustle and bustle of the 21st. century escaping back to an era more gentile to enjoy pleasant company, good beer and exquisitely preserved period surroundings
